'News You Can Use' while floating down the Sucarnochee River
| On the October
20, 2006 broadcast of the Sucarnochee Revue, Jacky Jack
White, Mississippi Chris Sharp, J. Burton Fuller, Britt
Gully, and Joyce Shearer signed contracts with Silverwolf
Records for a five CD series. The first CD will be a
compilation of all five of the artists. The next four CDs
will feature each artist individually. Murray Krugman of
Silverwolf Records says, "The Sucarnochee Revue is
the best, and most authentic southern regional program I
have heard in a long time. The artists do a great deal of
original music, and they understand how to entertain an
audience". Jacky Jack White said, " I am very,
very proud of the artists we have showcased on our radio
show. I sincerely hope this will be the beginning in a
long line of record company signings on people from this
Black Belt area". The Real Rhapsody music on demand internet service is featuring Jacky Jack White's CD's. We are proud this popular service is "getting er done" for us. Jacky Jack is pleased to announce a new affilliate with the Sucarnochee Revue. WMOX Radio 1010 AM in Meridian, Ms. Jack has been a big fan of WMOX for years, and was really glad when the gang at 1010 agreed to broadcast the shows weekly on Saturday afternoons following the sports programs. Bill Smith,Eddie Smith, Dumpster Dog,and Jim Myrick are some of the great on-air personalities of WMOX 1010 AM. We are proud to be associated with them. At the Nov. 29,
2005,and most recent meeting of Alabama's Tourism and
Marketing Board of Directors chaired by Director Ernie
Cowart, this resolution was passed unanimously: (The
Alabama's Tourism and Marketing proposes to continue
to).. "Partnership to support the Sucarnochee Revue,
a radio show to highlight unknown music, professional
artists, and promote tourism sites and points of
significance. It will paint a positive picture of the
people of the Black Belt." Jacky Jack White,J. Burton Fuller, and several musical members of Sumter County,Alabama are featured on Stuart Hyatt's Grammy nominated CD "THE CLOUDS."Stuart is nominated in the category of "Package Design."Stuart recorded the Gospel Group, the B40'S;Howard Fuller;Karen Ezell;Danielle and Danny Buckalew;John Brown's Canticle Singers; and others for a Foundational Study and CD in 2003.The Project combined art and music to paint an avant-garde mosaic of Sumter County, Alabama.Congrats to Stuart and the Coleman Center in York, Alabama and John Brown who coordinated the recordings of the artists. Dec. 10, Jacky Jack White,J. Burton Fuller, and Mississippi Chris Sharp were featured on Andy Tucker's great show on Alabama Public Radio, "Country Music Flashback." Accompanied by Terry Baker on Fiddle, and Harp, and Clint Jordan on Resonator Guitar, the boys sang, played guitars,and told stories for two hours.Andy was his usual gracious self, and made everybody feel "to home."Twenty-four songs were featured. Jacky Jack White, Britt Gully, Mississippi Chris Sharp, and J. Burton Fuller will be taking the Sucarnochee Revue on the road November 17 to McMinnville, Tennessee to perform for the employees and customers of Homeland Community Bank. Jacky Jack played in the 21st Annual Frank Brown Songwriters Invitational at Perdido Beach Nov. 4. Later that night, Jack had the great fortune to do a gig with Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show founder, George Cummings, and super songwriter/guitarist James Pasquale.Great time had by all. The Oct. 21 Sucarnochee Revue was a tremendous success.We had a large crowd, and the reception at the President's House on the campus of the University of West Alabama was terrifically enjoyable. |
